There is Exim-4.34 already pal.... so upgrade.
DSN is not the same thing as what you think, and NO, Exim still doesn't
support it natively, although you can somehow craft your own. There is
some FAQ that talks about this, but I am not sure what number it is.
Check the FAQs.

You mean when you send mail to nonexistent-user@??? there is
nothing written to rejectlog (/var/log/exim/rejectlog) or something???

I am running FreeBSD 4.10 and 5.x systems here with Exim-4.34
