Can we drop this - its been done before and creates more heat than light
on each repetition.

/me looks with interest at the Mailman 2.1 thread killing functions.

FWIW the list has a "default replies go to poster" policy and thats not
likely to change. I can be bribed but have a high price. I am not
enthusiastic about a per-user reply policy.
