Autor: Darron Broad Data: A: exim-users Assumpte: [Exim] can anyone advise me about email rejections?
Hello.
I would like to thank you in advance if you have any ideas about my question...
I am going to work on a simple ruby script of c function (really whatever language
is deemed appropriate) to take to output of the rejectlog, apply some rules and
update a local RBL database, most likely using PowerDNS due to it's simplicity as
can utilise an SQL backend.
My question is whether tailing the rejectlog to find interesing information about
spammers faking senders, trying to post to multiple false recipients etc is the
best way, or whether there is a method in the exim configuration to fork a
process and pass this in via stdin. Alternatively, do you know of a hook in the
code where (formally) you can link in a function to gather that information?
Thinking about it, you could also update that RBL using other metrics, such
as high spam probabilities etc.
BTW, the RBL will only be intended for personal use.
Any ideas about my question, or ideas about how to incorporate other functionality
would be appreciated.
