[Exim] Exisan 4.34-22 patch problem

I have d/l exim 4.34 and untared it as a normal user and I also download the
exiscan patch 22. Everytime I patch it looks like it's running the patch
but it doesn nothing I mean it hangs at the command prompt like it's
running. When I do a top I see it running but I don't see diff and patch is
at the very bottom using 0.01% cpu.

Prompt-> patch -p1 -d /somedir/exim-4.34/src/ exiscan-4.34-22.patch

Any ideas and I have also had no trailing / on the dir no difference

Patch version 2.5.4 on a RH9 box

I built 4.31 on this box with np but I want spammy to work correctly so it's
upgrade time
