probably not. Tom's SQL is very generic, no special features of MySQL
are used. his DDL is very MySQLish, but it's easy enough to translate
into alternative SQL to build the initial tables for the RDBMS of your
choice.
the connection string changes shouldn't be terribly onerous either,
they weren't for PostgreSQL.
