Hi, I want to set the smtp_banner to give me ONLY the small part of the
server name.

Something like "hostname -a" in a Linux Box instead just "hostname".

I only found in the smtp_banner the option $primary_hostname

Looking in Google and inside the Exim 4 Book, didn't find good
information.

What I need is something like $primary_short_hostname (like mail1
instead mail1.mydomain.com)

Any suggestion?

I dont want to just put a text, because I have more than one server,
and want that each server respond something like:

Server1: 220 ESMTP Thu Apr 29 19:25:32 2004 (mail1)
Server2: 220 ESMTP Thu Apr 29 19:25:32 2004 (mail2)

Currently I get only : 220 ESMTP Thu Apr 29 19:25:32 2004

BTW, at the QUIT I get the name of the primarydomain, is there a way to
hide that from the QUIT command?

That means instead to get an:

221 mail.mydomain.com closing connection

Just get a:

221 closing connection

Thanks for any Help/Tip/hint
