You could use a manualroute router. For example:

punt:
driver = manualroute
transport = remote_smtp
route_list = "example.com higher-mx.example.com bydns"

Or alternatively you could figure out why you're blacklisted and fix that.
Especially since they're your client, I'd think they'd want to address the
issue.
