If there is an "A" record but no "MX" then the RFC says to deliver mail to
the "A" record. If there is no "A" record then you will likely have to
wait for the DNS to time out on the remote sites that are sending to you.

You may also want to set smtp connection limits, per host connection
limits, and load based connection limits to keep the load down on the
server so it can service your other customers.
