On older Redhat boxes I could have two different configuration files
and use the like this in /etc/init.d/exim:
echo -n $"Starting exim: "
daemon /usr/sbin/exim -bd -q1m
daemon /usr/sbin/exim -bd -C /opt/exim/exim-auth.conf
The second one is listening on port 24 for tls connection from a
specific server.
The two main differences between exim.conf and exim-auth.conf was that
the second one used tls and had a much larger limit for max_rcpt
than the other one.
On Debian with the new directory-tree configuration structure and the
/etc/defaults/exim4 file what is the best way to get the same result?
Is it possible to combine the max_rcpt with an acl to have the two
daemons listening with different max_rcpt values depending on where
the mail comes from?
Regards
Johann

"That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that
ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to
comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and
length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of
Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be
filled with all the fullness of God."
