For what it's worth, I have a Samba system running which stores email for 4
Windows servers (running SmartMax) and aside from a locking issue which we
solved a while back, it's running very well. It's got about 40GB of email
on it at any time, serving over 20000 users. I'm unsure of the volume of
incoming email, however I'd assume it was something decent considering the #
of users (for over 6000 domains).

I don't have any NFS experiences to give you though - but just in case you
hear bad stuff about NFS, you can always give Samba a try :)
