defer   message   = Load to high, we need to defer this message, sorry
         condition = ${if > {$load_average} {10000}{1}{0}}

This condition in my acl_smtp_data works like a charm, when done BEFORE
any extensive checking (spam/virus/etc).

It's not nice to defer after the body was received, but somehow, most of
them never try again anyway ;)
