[Exim] sa-exim failing

I'm more than a little stumped here, and I hope someone can help me out!

I'm trying to install sa-exim so that I can link in spamassassin as smtp
time. It compiles just fine, but when I run my tests, it fails
complaining of an undefined_symbol log_write.

log_write had to be there because it compiled just fine. I commented out
the ./eximinc part of the makefile so I could ensure that it was
compiling against the correct .h files in exim 4.30

has anyone encontered this before? How do I fix it?
