Wow, talk about overkill. My box is a P3 600 with 768MB of RAM and SCSI-3
RAID1
hard drives, supporting 450 mailboxes and a 10GB information store. Works
like a champ.

This is, unfortunately, common with a number of installations. Usually
moving the transaction logs to a different physical volume than the
databases improves this dramatically.

Those are name resolution issues. The MS KB has a number of articles on
this topic.

I access OWA from Mozilla Firebird nightly.

I've never had a problem with Windows backups, using the native MS utility
or BackupExec.

I'm not singing the praises of Exchange, as I have my fair share of issues
with it. Most of my complaints, however, revolve around lack of
flexibility. From a stability and performance standpoint, Exchange as
always been a rock for me. It all comes down to proper planning and
implementation, and a knowledgeable admin, things common with any successful
service rollout on any platform.
