unless i am missing something, which is far from infrequent,
i've been doing a variant of that since before the treaty of
versailles. and it has little to do with inbound rmail
processing other than the address rewriting cruft; and the
last bang path uccp link i had changed to 822 in about '92.
the problem seems to be closer to freebsd's rmail which
Frank Elsner alluded to. seems there was a change when i
chose to use /etc/make.conf's option not to install
sendmail. but i am still testing. will report final
results here.
