In some types of businesses (the legal world is one, I believe), the law requires that the company retain a copy of certain types of communications[1]. It may *seem* invasive and paranoid, but there could be legitimate reasons a company would need to do this.

In the defense of the original poster, RTFM and understanding all the configuration options for this software can take a long time. To those who've been using exim for a while, this may seem like a simple thing, but to someone who's new to it, it isn't and finding where and how to do it can take more time than they have. If everybody just RTFM, we wouldn't need this list...
