Can't let that statement go by without a comment. It is not "impossible." I
set up my Exim server to accept incoming smtp from customers on alternate
ports (submission, for example). (Of course, the customers must
authenticate). This was set up SPECIFICALLY to get around the problem of
customers with home internet access with an ISP that hijacks port 25.

So, no, it is NOT "impossible." You just have to hold the customer's hand a
little more, to help them point at the correct smtp port when sending mail
through your server.

If your "co-hosting provider" does not do this, they are doing you and
themselves a disservice. Find another one that will give you what you want.
