I am a dissatisfied RedHat user who has been in the process of building my
own presonal linux distro, as there are many things I just don't need,
or just don't want, let alone the 'partial lack of control' that you have
with a major distro (not that all things are bad in them by the way).
If you have not looked at it, check out the Linux From Scratch project.
Even if you stay with a 'supported??' distro, it is lots of fun, and a very
good learning experience :)
