[Exim] Prob: exim4 + rewriting

Hi folks,
it took me already several hours to get the rewriting of outgoing adresses with exim4 running. But it seems to me that exim does not rewite at all.
I reduced the rewrite rules to this one:

*@*.TBA.Home $1@???

In my opinion the rule should shorten the domain part of the outgoing mail from hostname.TBA.Home to TBA.Home, but nothing happens.
Here is the output from the command
"exim4 -brw bat@???":

  sender: bat@???
    from: bat@???
      to: bat@???
      cc: bat@???
     bcc: bat@???
reply-to: bat@???
env-from: bat@???
  env-to: bat@???

Can someony give me a hint...?
