Sure, just mount the other server's drive via NFS. Then you can use it's
passwd file instead of your own. The only down side is if the other
server goes down.

You could also ftp the other server's passwd file on a regular basis
(cron?) to the mail server. That way you don't have to worry about the
other server going down but there would be a 'propogation delay'.
