sorry to reply to myself, but if you want to test the problem I
described, you will need a domain that gives a callout defer. I have
one: false.boox.net, it is configured to have the MX pointing at an
address that drops packets to port 25). (mmm, thinking of it, perhaps
that should also be my lowest preference MX...)
Adding to my report, sometimes both the warn log messages (and the
callout defer log) disappear, while I can see that the callout is
attempted (from the firewall log). This happens only after a RSET.
