[Exim] Really simple syntax question

Excuse me asking a really basic question, but is there any way (in
exim.conf) to extract the nth field from a colon-separated list which I
have in the form of a string?

eg if I look up a user's line in the passwd file, and I want to extract
the comment field (5th field), how do I do this?
