Hello? I posted the first response to the original post, directing them to the documentation for PHPs mail() function. I believe that I *did* answer the question. As long as exim is set up according to the documentation provided with the source, PHPs mail() function will work exactly like it does with sendmail.

I don't know if you were directing that paragraph to me, but I never suggested that ANYONE change languages. Use what you like - it makes no difference to me. Someone had offered an opinion that I disagreed with and I sent *one* response with my opinion and the reasons for it. I marked the top of the message that it was OT and I ignored the responses, not wanting a "language war" being brought to the exim list. Your message was much more inflammatory than any other message I've seen in this thread so far...

Again, I never tried to convert anyone from/to anything. As a matter of fact, I made a point of mentioning that I use both languages on a daily basis. Maybe you should worry less about OS/DB/whatever evangelism and more about reading comprehension.
