AUTH=LOGIN is not RFC compliant. Tell your smarthost to fix his smtp
server. AUTH=LOGIN was required by older OE users - but new OE does
perfectly ok with AUTH LOGIN.

This one like qmail - tell him to pick a better smtp auth patch,
