I don't believe this is the setting required for changing the email addy in
the auto generated messages. The correct setting to specify a different
mailer-daemon address is:
errors_reply_to = someuser@???
The qualify_domain setting is used to fill in the domain address part for
emails that are sent with email addresses containing only local parts.

Check the Exim specification, the setting you are looking for is
qualify_domain.

Hello List,
I'm new to exim, and I have to following problem:
exim sends a bounce message with the "From:"-header
Mail Delivery System <Mailer-Daemon@???>
but the destination refuses this address, it should be:
<someuser@???>
is there a way to replace this address ?
I'm using Exim 3.36 on Debian
Thanks for your help
