Hi all!

I want to use exim as a client to authenticate against an SMTP server
that excepts SSL connections on port 465 without issuing a STARTTLS
command. The same behaviour can be achieved in exim if it's acting as a
server, btw.

How can I get towards this? The other SMTP doesn't know anything about
STARTTLS and cannot handle SSL itself, as it's a wrapped server. I don't
know the product used (yet).

I thought of wrapping exim itself, but would like to avoid that if
possible. If this were the only way, is it possible to build a wrapper
for this single connection only?

With highest regards,
