Maybe I'm missing something but WHY?
You are not the one that is going to deliver to those sites so let the
smart host deal with which MX record is needed. If you hand off mail to
them they are going to do that anyway despite what you may have learned
about what MX records they have.

How do you know when some site is going to take your host and say it is
spam because it has cable in it?
Why don't you just smart everything and not worry about it?
