add/change this in your global config:
rfc1413_query_timeout =
with a value you feel comfortable with. rfc1413_query_timeout = 0s
disables ident checking all together. Many firewalls drop (not reject)
ident calls so you are waiting for the session time out. Setting this to
another value such as 0 or maybe 5s causes exim to only wait for the
specified time, rather than your system default (30 seconds is probably
right)
This is explained right in the default config file btw.
