Usually, when customers ask about backup MX, it's because they think
their mail is stored somewhere other than the primary MX[1]. In these
cases, backup MX really can help.
Other than that scenario, I think a backup MX is a complete waste of
time.

[1] Well, another common reason they ask is because they've heard about
it somewhere and have no idea how it works.
