[Exim] Exim and network problems ..

Please could someone, advise what would cause exim 4.XX to give these errors,

2003-11-03 17:09:18 SMTP connection from [192.168.0.199]:1298 (TCP/IP
connection count = 1)
2003-11-03 17:09:22 SMTP connection from [192.168.0.199]:1298 (TCP/IP
connection count = 2)
2003-11-03 17:20:22 SMTP connection from localhost [127.0.0.1]:1298
(TCP/IP connection count = 3)
2003-11-03 17:22:37 SMTP data timeout (message abandoned) on connection
from (LourensNote) [192.168.0.199]:1552

These errors also came up when fetchmail tried to transfer to exim via
127.0.0.1
