Sounds like it's using the userid of the web server software. As I
recall, I got around that somehow... I had to make the userid of the
webserver software (Usually Apache for Apache webserver software) allowed to
alter the from address. Ah yes. I added this line to the exim.conf file
trusted_users = mail:majordomo:gizmail:apache
Which also made mail, majordomo, and gizmail trusted users, because they
needed to do similar things.
