Ah, in that case I suspect fetchmail trying to connect to a different IP
address, like the one assigned to you from pppd or the one you use for
your network (192.168.x.x). Could you try adding the 192.168.x.y address
configured on your interface to this list?
As promptly corrected by Russel King, use <; to change the separator to
;. There may not be a space between < and ;. Your line should now look
like:
local_interfaces = <; 127.0.0.1 ; 192.168.x.y
Try if that helps. If it doesn't, you might consider adding the
IP-address assigned by pppd to the list, but this might impose security
risks, as your server will then be 'available to the internet' with your
internet routable IP address assigned by pppd.
