It is possible, yes.

if ${local_part:$h_from:} is not "" then
    save mail/saved/by/sender/localpart/${sg{${local_part:$h_from:}}{[./|]}{}}
    finish
endif


Replace "./|" with the characters that you want to filter out "for
security reasons".
