You are running some braindead virus-scanner on your machine:-
% telnet 146.141.15.98 25
Trying 146.141.15.98...
Connected to 146.141.15.98.
Escape character is '^]'.
220-InterScan Version 3.7-Build_SOL_1070 $Date: 04/25/2002 11:54:0013$: Ready
220 mail3.wits.ac.za ESMTP Exim 4.10 Fri, 26 Sep 2003 13:06:31 -0200
helo test
250 mail3.wits.ac.za Hello localhost [127.0.0.1]
the virus-scanner is proxying the mail into exim so that it sees all
connections coming in from the loopback address - 127.0.0.1. That means
the standard configure settings:-
hostlist relay_from_hosts = 127.0.0.1
and
accept hosts = +relay_from_hosts
make you absolutely wide open.
You cannot do any form of sending host checks because your virus scanner
eats that information.
