Subject: [Exim] question on "From:" and RFC822
hi,

I've installed a pretty heavy antispam ruleset on our exim4 server but
have some issues with some mails coming from a bugzilla account.

here is the error I get in rejectlog:
---------CUT---------
2003-09-08 13:35:52 19wKJE-0007jX-7p H=ezoffice.mandrakesoft.com
(qa.mandrakesoft.com) [212.11.15.34] F=<apache@???> rejected
after DATA: missing or malformed local part (expected word or "<"):
failing address in "From" header is: [jkeller] <bugzilla@???>
---------CUT---------

According to RFC822 the From-header should contain double quotes around
the brackets like this:

---------CUT---------
From: "[jkeller]" <bugzilla@???>
---------CUT---------

The bugreport I posted for this on mandrake's bugzilla (see
http://qa.mandrakesoft.com/show_bug.cgi?id=5400) hovever revealed that
the mail is actually sent with the double quotes before and after the
brackets, but now I'm wondering where they got lost.

And of course how can I workaround this issue?

thanks

Udo
