The problem is that this message can arise in all sorts of
circumstances, not all of which involve an incoming message from a
remote host. Even if $sender_host_address is set, this may be happening
much later, during a delivery routing. So trying to specify some general
wording is difficult.

Hmm. Just had an idea. If there is no message id defined, this must be
during message reception/verification. That's a good clue. I may be able
to work on that. Idea noted in general. (If there *is* a message id, it
will appear in the log line, and the source of the message can be traced
from it.)
