Isn't that a bit like printing directions for opening a box, on the inside of
the box? ;)

Perhaps not, in case of attachments (except for some M$ clients that
automatically open attachments under certain conditions... sigh); but still,
why lull someone into a false sense of security, when AV scanners are always
imperfect?

Also, how annoying to have to either delete a copy of the bloody note
everytime one hits "reply," or live with multiple copies in every thread?

What about a top-posted reply to such a message, from an infected machine,
that leaves the (now invalid) "virus free" message intact at the bottom?
Guess who gets blamed? ;)

Finally, and I suppose this will start a mild flare-up of opinions; but, what
the heck... Doesn't appending something to the body of a message violate the
concept that MTA's are not supposed to modify message bodies?

Personally, I consider the crap appended to messages by certain ISPs to be a
form of spam. Please consider not adding to the noise level.
