Hi all,
Here's a curly one for you...
My workstation runs exim. I send mail to another server which turns out
to also be running exim. The message never gets delivered.
Me: Exim version 3.36 #1 built 12-Mar-2003 20:59:47
Them: Exim version 4.10 #2 built 6/-11/-2 10:10:10
My logs say:
* SMTP error from remote mailer after end of data: host
{theirHostName} [{theirHostIP}]: 421 {theirHostName} SMTP
incoming data timeout - closing connection.
Theirs have lots of log entries like:
* SMTP data timeout (message abandoned) on connection from
({myHostName}) [{myHostIP}]
Also, a few others like:
* SMTP command timeout on connection from [{myHostIP}]
* SMTP connection from ({myHostName}) [{myHostIP}] lost while
reading message data (header)
* SMTP data timeout (message abandoned) on connection from
({myHostName}) [{myHostIP}]
Anyone seen this before?
I read one message online that talked about a missing <LF> at the end of
a message, but I don't know if that is a red herring.
PS. Please CC me, as I'm not currently subscribed.
