remember, pop3 is not the same as smtp (the protocol implemented by
exim). POP3 is a mailbox protocol for retrieving mail. SMTP is a
protocol to send mail from one machine to another.

is it fowarding port 25? You could test if this is working with a telnet
to the sever from the remote client to port 25 (telnet my.server 25) you
should be able to read a welcome message, If it doesn't work there is
some problem with your fw config
