While for virtual servers and for e-mail use of a regular A record is
necessary, requiring it for other services is not required.
The MTA should not make its decision on accepting the message
based on the content of the body (in the worst case it could just add an
extra header with a warning).
Said that i should note that the example made looks as a real spam,
since after all it use a numeric address for a machine that has a regular
A record, pheraphs in a try to hidden the real address.
IMHO both of you are guilty !!!
