Hmmm...
I'll need a larger nudge than this. I thought the :blackhole: mechanism was
for sending messages for *defined* addresses to the bit bucket? For example
in the aliases file.
How/where would I specify redirection of unknown local users to this
:blackhole:?

Search the spec file for:
:blackhole:
which does what its name implies. No delivery is done for
it, and no error message is generated. If this is the
first item in an alias list, a colon must be used to
terminate the alias name.
In conjunction with a wildcard alias.
