Unfortunately, it seems that if Entourage is configured to use both SSL and
password authentication, it will attempt to send the passwords in the clear
before starting the secure connection, which is simply wrong, and should not
be accepted by properly configured SMTP servers.
So, it seems like Entourage is broken.
