If you are ACTUALLY using Debian Woody. I'd stick to doing a compile.

You see Yahoo's pop3 and forwarding are for pay services... Unless you
pay pop3 won't work.
Now IF you are paying for yahoo, then just use fetchmail to map the
e-mail properly.
