Subject: [Exim] Rewrites not checked when verifying sender address
Hi all,

I have a machine running Exim 4.12 serving as primary MX for a domain
(I'll call it friendsdomain.com). This is listed in relay_to_domains
and I have a rewrite from *@friendsdomain.com to friend@???.
This works fine for outgoing mail.

Recently, he has started sending me mail from an address at this
domain (instead of his work email address) and Exim is returning a
4xx code to mails from him with a message in the log saying "Could
not complete sender verify" (I assume this is because the local part
he is using in his email address isn't a username on this machine and
my machine is the primary MX).

Am I doing something silly or is there a way of getting Exim to check
the rewrite configuration when verifying a sender address (or another
solution)?

Thanks in advance.
