Hi.
In the appendfile transport driver, with "maildir_format" set, one can also set
"create_directory" in order to have Exim create the maildir on the fly on
delivery.
This works fine!
However, I (or my filtering users) sometimes deliver into folders, such as
"$home/maildir/.Junk". If this folder doesn't exist, it's created, just as it
should be.
But: I can't tell Exim to also create a "maildirfolder" file in this newly
created maildir folder. This in turn messes up my quota system.
Right now I'm working my way around the problem by having my exim filter files
also use the "logfile" and "logwrite" commands create my "maildirfolder" file
manually. This works for me because the users can't edit the filter files
themselves (they are generated from a database). But it's not a kludgy
solution, and I have to emty the files regularly. Also, in regular cases on
other systems it would be useless.
So is there some better way of doing this? Can we get a new
"create_directory_as_subdirectory" setting?
