There wasn't an entry for sendmail in my inetd.conf so ive just put one in
myself

smtp stream tcp nowait root /usr/exim/bin/exim -bd

Does that seem ok?

Even when I run: /usr/exim/bin/exim -bd

And then connect to port 25 I get:

Check /etc/[x]inetd.conf to make sure that it isn't catching the conection
there.
