I know this is probably not what you want to hear, but it might help.
Forwarding the messages to oneself is not the way to go. Not only does
it add a "FW: " to the subject line, it creates a new message, usually
throwing out parts of the old message (i.e. it's now "From: " the
forwarding user, most of the headers of the original message are
discarded, etc.) At the very least, having the wrong "From: " address
will be a huge inconvenience to the users. If after transfering the
messages to the new store, users are unable to easily sort/search by
sender, I consider the transfer to be a total failure.
I've never used Notes, so I don't know if it's possible, but your best
bet may be to have the users transfer the old messages from their
current mail store to the new mail store within the MUA, using an
intermediate IMAP store if necessary. For example, the users should be
abel to select all of their messages and copy them to an IMAP store,
then from there copy them to their new preferred message store. If no
IMAP server is available, I'd say your time is better spent setting one
up than trying to get exim to munge the messages for you.
Otherwise, perhaps all of the old messages can be attached as
message/rfc822 attachments to a new, blank message rather than
forwarded individually, and then saved individually to the new locations
on the new message store.
Or if Notes can save as an mbox file, that may be even better.
I hope that offering suggestions of a few of the "right" ways to solve
your problem will be more productive than reiterating that your original
request sounds like the "wrong" way to everyone who has read it so far =)
