Do you have the affected in-addr.arpa zones delegated to your DNS
servers, or are they handled by your ISP's DNS servers? Just entering
a zone file into a DNS server doesn't do much if this server is not
authoritative for the domain.
What rDNS tests do is to verify if the connecting mail server has any
PTR entry for its IP at all, and possibly if an A record for this entry
matches the IP address of the mail server. Hope that's not too
complicated.
