When its for a domain, that does not actually have its alias file it
says:
2003-05-20 17:55:46 19IG1K-000Ba2-47 == www@???
R=system_aliases defer (-1): failed to expand
"${lookup{$local_part}lsearch{/etc/mail/$domain}}": failed to open
/etc/mail/kajack.mikeal.com for linear search: No such file or directory
Whereas, when the file does exist it says:

>> R=userforward defer (-1): failed to stat /nonexistent/. (No such file

What do you mean?
Do you mean transport_home_directory? If so, what needs to be defined?
The page
http://www.exim.org/exim-html-4.20/doc/html/spec_22.html
doesn't really explain it well IMHO.
