I'm still struggeling with my incoming mail.
I'm able to send mail, but not recieve.

Since I'm just getting started with exim, I don't even know where to start..

I've come to the conclusion the incoming traffic on port 25 is closed.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

thanks

Yes, I get a banner then telnet'ing into port 25 at localhost.
I also tried to telnet a remotehost at port 25 as well, and that worked fine

Telneting from remotehost to my server didn't work though, so it seem that
only inbound traffic on port 25 is closed.

I tried sending mail to root@??? as well, but to no avail.

Exim isn't set up to do domain literals by default.

Do you at least get a port 25 exim banner from your linux host?

Maybe your provider is blocking inbound as well as outbound port 25
