Not that I know of. There is a heated discussion going on at the moment
in the dnsop mailing list about the use of rDNS. There are strong
opinions held on either side. One side believes that rDNS should be
abolished because it tempts people to rely on it. The other side says
"of course you must not *rely* on it, but it is useful corroborative
detail that people can use if they want to." The cause of the discussion
was a draft RFC that attempts to lay out how rDNS should be used.

However, despite the lack of "official" guidance, there are paranoid
mail admins who will not accept mail from any host that does not have an
rDNS entry. So if you run a mail server and want to be able to send to
as many hosts as possible, you should make sure your rDNS entry is
correct.
